Two gates before any credit is issued
Validation — before the project begins
An accredited Rimba verifier reviews the project design, methodology application, baseline calculation, and monitoring plan. Confirms the project is correctly structured and claimed reductions are credible.
Verification — after reductions are achieved
The verifier reviews monitoring data from IoT sensors, satellite analysis, and field surveys. Confirms the claimed reductions actually occurred. Only then does the registry issue credits.
Issuance — credits enter the registry
Each credit receives a unique serial number, is recorded with full provenance, and is available for transfer or listing on Bursa Carbon Exchange and Climate Impact X.

The serial number is human-readable — it tells you the country, ecosystem, vintage year, project, and credit sequence at a glance. No decoding required.
The format was designed so that a Malaysian buyer, a Singapore auditor, or an international regulator can all read it and understand exactly what they are looking at.
Preventing Double Counting
A retired credit cannot be resold, reused, or re-listed. Once marked retired, that status is permanent and irreversible. Rimba maintains data-sharing protocols with Bursa Carbon Exchange, Climate Impact X, and national registries to ensure a credit cannot simultaneously appear on two platforms.
Article 6.2 — Automated CA Workflow
When a Rimba credit is sold into Singapore's compliance market, the registry automatically generates a structured Corresponding Adjustment notification record — containing the credit serial number, emission reduction quantum, buyer identity, and retirement purpose — and submits it via API to Malaysia's NRES national registry and Singapore's NEA ICC tracking system. No manual government paperwork. No delay. The CA is documented at the point of transaction.
This is the feature no other ASEAN-native registry has. It is why Rimba is positioned as the legal-tech infrastructure for the AACF — not just another carbon registry.
ASEAN governments can run their registry on Rimba
The Rimba registry engine is available as a white-label SaaS platform for ASEAN national ministries. Indonesia, Vietnam, or Cambodia can deploy a "National Carbon Registry powered by Rimba" — retaining sovereign branding while using Rimba's CA-tracking infrastructure, dMRV pipeline, and serial number architecture. This is how Rimba expands geographically without the friction of exporting a foreign standard. The host government gets a functioning national registry in months rather than years. Rimba earns transaction and integration fees on every credit processed.
For Malaysia, Rimba's ASEAN-MY-PEAT-2026-0001-000001 serial number format is designed for direct compatibility with the National Carbon Registry API mandated under the National Climate Change Bill (in final legal review, March 2026). When NRES publishes the national registry API specification, Rimba will ensure one-to-one record synchronisation.
The AACF infrastructure goes live when our founding methodology is peer-reviewed
The Rimba registry and CA-tracking layer are in active development. The first credits will be issued — and the first CA notifications will flow to NRES and NEA — once the founding mangrove blue carbon methodology completes independent peer review.
